Back to basics

we performed a retrospective cohort study to determine whether patients taking antipsychotics have an increased risk of sudden death than the population without antipsychotics. Once the adjustment for potential confounders was made we obtained a relative risk of 2.3 (confidence interval 1.77 to 3.22 with a 95% confidence).  What is the correct interpretation of the result?

1)  The result is consistent with an increased risk associated with the use of antipsychotics,  but not as statically significant

2)  The result to just antipsychotics protect against the risk of  sudden death.

3) The resort is not interpretable because we have not made a random allocation of treatments.

4) The result support the hypothesis that the use of antipsychotics increases the risk of sudden  The results support the hypothesis that the use of antipsychotics increases the risk of sudden death.
